Description: Proud to Serve is a program with the primary purpose of combating homelessness among veterans, particularly in Texas, where nearly 2,000 veterans are experiencing homelessness. This program recognizes the sacrifices made by veterans and aims to provide comprehensive support, enabling them and their families to regain and maintain their independence. We are committed to offering veterans the necessary resources, services, and assistance to secure stable housing, access healthcare, and ultimately achieve self-sufficiency, honoring their service and ensuring they have the support needed to transition from homelessness to stability.
Housing Assistance: We work to provide veterans and their families with assistance in securing stable and safe housing. This includes rental assistance programs, housing counseling, and access to emergency shelter services for those in immediate need of housing.
Healthcare Access: Ensures that veterans have access to comprehensive healthcare services. This includes assistance in accessing VA healthcare benefits, mental health support, addiction treatment resources, and referrals to healthcare providers in the community.
Employment Support: We offer veterans job training, employment placement assistance, and access to employment resources. It helps veterans gain and maintain meaningful employment, supporting their financial stability and independence.
Financial Literacy: Provides financial literacy to help veterans and their families manage their finances effectively. This includes budgeting, savings, debt management, and financial planning to promote long-term financial stability.
Family Support: The program extends its support to veterans’ families, recognizing that family stability is crucial to veterans’ well-being. Services may include family counseling, assistance with childcare, and referrals to family support resources in the community.
